I’ve looked on student finance and online and I’m not sure how to cancel my student finance application. Originally I was going to start uni this year 2021 but I’ve deferred to next year 2022 so I need to cancel my application.

If you login to your student finance account you can follow these steps to cancel your application.
1. Click "expand" on your application for student finance
2. Scroll down
3. Click on the "cancel this application" option and follow the steps to cancel

Just to add to this. If it doesn't let you cancel online - you can provide a Change of Circumstances (CO1) form either online or through the post. That form can be found here: http://ow.ly/d/8peN
To put your mind at ease, we won't pay your or the University as they would need to confirm your attendance and registration to do so.
